some of you have already heard about this, but my mom had a mild heart attack last week. she got to the doctor early enough that they only needed to put in a stint, and the blockage went on through without complication. she's doing very well now, but you can keep her in your prayers if you think about it.

after 6 months of research, i finally bought my new car.

goodbye, fair honda. it was a good run and we had wonderful times together. thanks for all the memories.

helpful tidbit you may not be aware of: on your cars' dashboard next to the fuel gauge is a little fuel pump icon. next to that icon is an arrow. this arrow points to the side of your car that has the gas tank. interesting, eh?

i'm in Orange County, CA, this week for some training classes on a software package. as i've sat there during the lectures the past couple of days, i've found myself thinking, "I can't believe i'm spending so much time learning this. This is something man-made. A computer program. In 5 years, nothing I've learned here will still be applicable."

i think i need to learn to sew or something.

i did see a Ford GT at the mall though.

18This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. 19Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.

20But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,^[c] because he will save his people from their sins."

22All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23"The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"^[d]—which means, "God with us."

24When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

my birthday this year was spent alone in mid-state new york. i did buy an expensive dinner for myself though.

funny, this being old thing. i'm now closer to 30 than 20, but i can finally burn my draft card.
